Polygyny is not illegal in Australia
[edit]1) The definition of polygyny used in this article is very odd. Restricting the article to polygynous *marriage* is arbitrary, as the word is also used to describe informal relations, defacto relationships and civil partnerships. 2) Despite polygynous *marriage* being illegal in Australia, polygynous defacto and informal relationships are both legal.
I imagine the situation is similar in other countries.
This article needs to be revised. I'd be happy to contribute, but only if I could be relatively certain it won't be immediately rolled back. Bryce Stansfield (talk) 21:41, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
